Carlr’s Junior YouTube Strategy

Jerry | June 6, 2009

YouTube - CarlsJr

Check out the latest Carl´s Junior viral video….

I´m not sure if I liked it, I rather viral videos that are not in your face branded and mainly because we´ve seen the same idea before, this was made by Nike about a year ago in a viral where Kobe Bryant jumps an Aston Martin this video has 2,346,461 views and was uploaded April 10, 2008

But ok I think there is one thing we can say about Carl´s viral video i has gone fully viral in three days; with 247,238 views it was uploaded June 03, 2009.

All this noise comes with the new “viral Strategy” forms Carl´s Junior where they invite all the YouTube Stars to demonstrate how they eat their Portobello Mushroom Six Dollar Burger, nor sure if i liked the hole campaing but at the end of the day they are making a lot of buzz on YouTube.

You can check all the  YouTube Stars videos on Carl´s Junior Channel

Project Natal will change marketing and advertising

Jerry | June 4, 2009

X-box announce this week at E3 their new gaming interface “Project Natal” here are two videos where you can see the amazing new features that will change the way we used to conceive video games and entertainment.

As you can see this are not just video games anymore, we are talking about a new way of entertainment, a new experience, a new media or platform for brands and companies to market their products and services.

There’s been a lot of noise lately around Augmented Reality; it’s the new interactive way to reach costumers online, we have seen the Star Treks Experience the Enterprise website fully equipped with “AR”, the new Papa John’s campaign Papas Road Trip, the interactive MLB cards , GE’s Plug Into The Smart Grid and a more and more cases using Augmented Reality, as you can see in the Project Natal videos up here this is the “Mother of all Augmented Realities”.

Imagine all this cases on a 42 inch TV right on the living room of all your costumers. Sound really nice! And don’t forget that platforms like this are now completely connected to the internet so we can post new content every time we want and then users will be able to access it on-demand, share it with their friends with just a few words like: “send it to Jerry through facebook” or “post it on twitter”.

Here are some brief ideas of how I think this new technology will be used by brands:

Imagine…

  • A personal shopper showing you the latest fashion accessories and having a truly virtual dressing room at your home, think in GAP, Abercrombie, H&M, and Banana.
  • A complete makeover for women so they can try the latest cosmetics by L’Oreal, MAC, and Cover Girl.
  • See the latest mustang right in front your sofa in your living room, changing the colors, opining the hood and even driving it around for a quick test run.
  • Refurnish your home with IKEA and see how a new couch or table will look like.
  • All kind of “small” addictive advergames completely immersive sponsored by Doritos or Cadbury, where you can challenge your friends via facebook.
  • Being part of the most creative ads as an actor, or having ads talking to you

Just a few idea that came up to my mind, please feel free to comment and share some ideas

All these entertainment and communication platforms are evolving and again changing the media, the way we live, the way we entertain, the way we communicate with our friends. But what does all means to Brands and marketing and advertising agencies; the media, the channels, the consumers, and messages are evolving quicker than ever, now days if we aren’t running at full speed we are being left behind.

UPDATE

There´s been a lot of controversy about if what we´ve seen on the videos is the real thing, well one friend try it at the E3 last week here is the video, he is the first one.

Tomorrow I´ll try to contact him to get more first hand impressions…
